CSO bringing Berlin and Broadway to Christchurch

There’s something gloriously seedy about the music of Kurt Weill.

Somehow he managed to evoke both the sophistication and the decadence of the Weimar Republic in Berlin between the world wars.

But that’s not the end of it – after fleeing to the USA in the 1930s he had a huge influence on American songwriters and musical theatre.

The Christchurch Symphony Orchestra will be transporting audiences to this heady, hedonistic time on Saturday with “Weill - From Berlin to Broadway”.
