Around 300 Fijian peacekeepers are preparing to depart for the Golan Heights as part of the next rotation of UN troops to the volatile region.

Commander Humphrey Tawake of the Fiji military told FBC News the troops were expected to leave by the end of next month.
He said the security situation remained a constant challenge but the UN was making every effort to ensure safety.
Pacnews reported Fijian nationals remained on high alert in South Sudan despite a ceasefire in place.
Commander Tawake said the UN was pulling out all the stops to ensure a fragile ceasefire there stayed in place for the long term.
He said the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon was there a couple of days ago to try and resolve the on-going conflict.
There are 27 Fijians working in South Sudan from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, the Fiji Police Force and the Fiji Corrections Service.
