A Papua New Guinea MP says he has swapped from the opposition to the government coalition for the benefit of the people in his Usino-Bundi constituency.

Jimmy Uguro, who was with the National Alliance, said he joined the government to ensure that his district in Madang Province received adequate funding for major projects.
He said he would be implementing a rural housing scheme, water projects, road infrastructure and other things to ensure his district receives health and education services .
Mr Uguro, a first term MP, told the Post Courier that he was not paid to make the move.
A second opposition MP and also a member of the National Alliance, John Simon, in the Maprik set in East Sepik, says he is also moving to the government benches.
The move will leave the opposition with just a handful of MPs, similar to the situation in the previous administration.
