Female Pacific police officers have valuable skills that should see them appointed to high-profile roles.

That's according to the first-ever female Police Commissioner serving in a UN mission in South Sudan, who is from Fiji.

Unaisi Bolatolu-Vuniwaqa who is in charge of a force of 1500 officers from 42 countries, says she is proud to have been appointed to the role, not only as a Fijian, but also on behalf of women from the Pacific.

She spoke to Tim Glasgow.
