Beloved musician and broadcaster Anika Moa finally has her own podcast, It’s Personal with Anika Moa. Across 12 episodes she speaks to notable New Zealanders about life’s tough lessons and how they’ve coped with big challenges. It’s entertaining, it’s emotional, and above all – it’s personal.

Available as video and audio at rnz.co.nz/anikaYouTube and on podcast platforms from Friday 23 February, It’s Personal with Anika Moa reveals what’s perhaps the multi-talented performer and broadcaster’s greatest gift – a remarkable ability to get people to tell her things.

“It’s personal to me as well as them,” Moa says.

“I’m not a journalist, I’m a human sharing a conversation about someone’s life. Empathy is everything. There is some pretty serious kōrero, but we have some great laughs as well. I’m grateful to all my guests for being so open with me and I think people will really enjoy hearing something different about their lives than what we usually hear about.  Mauri ora.”

Comedian Tom Sainsbury, who features as a guest on the podcast, says Anika's authenticity shines through.

“Anika is so hilarious but also so truthful and real, and she allows her interviewees to be real too. There's something very special about chatting with her on those armchairs."

It's Personal with Anika Moa tackles subjects like death and grieving with Casketeer Kaiora Tipene, being your authentic self with musician Jen Cloher and aging with actor Robyn Malcolm. Other guests include Chelsea Winstanley, Bella Kalolo, Anna Pillay, Guyon Espiner, Tami Neilson, Claire Chitham, Tom Sainsbury, Sophie Devine and Grace Palmer.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see a different side to Anika and her guests. Released as an audio and video podcast, It's Personal with Anika Moa has a new episode every Friday and Tuesday on podcast platforms, YouTube and rnz.co.nz/anika and will play on Monday nights on RNZ National.
