Fears fireworks show could hurt harbour whale

From Afternoons, 1:21 pm on 5 July 2018

Wellingtonians have been descending on the harbour front to catch a glimpse of a southern right whale that has been frolicking there for a couple of days.

But while the whale has brought productivity to a happy standstill in offices overlooking the harbour, there are concerns it could be impacted by the council's Mataraki fireworks show set to take place off a barge in the harbour on Saturday night.

You can find out about whether the show will go on on the council's Facebook page here.
