Govt to crack down on farmers flouting animal tracking

From Morning Report, 8:48 am on 15 May 2018

The Government's getting tougher on farmers as the Mycoplasma Bovis disease spreads. It's going to enforce the animal tracking system it says the previous Government neglected to do - and some farmers will face hefty penalties for non-compliance. The cattle disease has now been found at a farm in the Waikato, and going on the rates of returning tests so far, the Agriculture Minister is expecting up to 30 percent of the tests to come back positive.
