Better staff training best way to stop assaults - bar owner

A bar owner in Wellington says the best way for bars to help get rid of sexual assaults in the city - is to arm every member of bar staff with the right training. The council is commiting to stamping out sexual violence in the capital as part of its draft long-term plan. One councillor wants mandatory sexual assault prevention training as part of the licensing laws. But Wellington bar owner Gwilym Waldren told our reporter Laura Dooney it's better to train individual staff as they start work, not just for an annual review.
