Nurses unhappy with pay proposal
Some nurses say an independent panel's recommendations to boost pay don't go far enough and they hope proposed strikes do go ahead. The panel, which has been working to resolve a pay dispute between District Health Boards and nurses, has recommended a three percent pay increase in June, to be followed by another three percent increase in August, and a final three percent increase in 2019. RNZ reporter Nita Blake-Persen spoke to Wellington nurse Kathleen who told her that needs to be much more.
