International Cricket 'defensive' over match-fixing claims

From Morning Report, 7:23 am on 28 May 2018

Australian, English and Indian cricket's ethics are under scrutiny by the International Cricket Council after an investigation by Al Jazeera found evidence of match fixing. The 18-month investigation saw Al Jazeera secretly record meetings with a representative of the Indian mafia, an organisation responsible for most of the country's illegal betting market. The allegations are against a small number of players from each country's teams and highlight several games played in India in the last two years. Betfair's cricket correspondent and cricket corruption investigator Ed Hawkins tells Susie Ferguson the ICC is acting defensively in response to the Al Jazeera news.
