'Police need to be adults' on police chases - Deborah Manning

From Morning Report, 7:45 am on 30 May 2018

A lawyer who's advised families of people killed in police pursuits says the police should accept their policy needs to change. Yesterday national road policing manager Superintendent Steve Greally told Morning Report the pursuit policy was, in his words, fit for purpose. He made the remark after a 15-year-old boy being chased by officers in Palmerston North crashed and was killed. A 12-year-old girl who was a passenger also died. The number of people killed while fleeing the police in the past two years now stands at 21. Susie Ferguson talks to lawyer Deborah Manning.
