Minto slams National govt over meth contamination

National party leader Simon Bridges has apologised for needlessly decontaminating state houses after getting what he says was dud advice about methamphetamine. Mr Bridges told Morning Report the issue has been incredibly frustrating and he's sorry the former government got the wrong advice, which led to tenants being evicted and millions of dollars in unnecessary work. He says ministers were sceptical with experts and asked tough questions, but the advice consistently came back that houses in which meth had been smoked, needed to be decontaminated. State Housing Action Network's spokesperson John Minto tells Susie Ferguson it's unfair as the National government was happy to compensate wealthy people like South Canterbury Finance.
