The California judge in the Stanford sexual assault case has been recalled from office by local voters. In 2016 20-year-old Brock Turner sexually assaulted an unconscious woman, whose gut wrenching victim impact went viral online. Judge Aaron Persky faced international scrutiny after he sentenced Brock Turner to just six months in jail. The judge also received backlash for expressing sympathy to Turner during sentencing, saying: "A prison sentence would have a severe impact on him." Stanford law professor Michele Landis Dauber led the campaign to get Judge Aaron Persky recalled from office. "There's a set of factors society-wide in our country that says this is the time for women to stand up, fight back... That's what we're seeing," she tells Susie Ferguson.
