National's Dan Bidois celebrates Northcote win

The National Party celebrated alongside the All Blacks on Saturday night, with its candidate Dan Bidois winning the Northcote by-election. It puts National's numbers in Parliament back up to 56, but doesn't replace the political experience the party lost when long-time MP Jonathan Coleman resigned for a top job with a private healthcare company. But with preliminary results in, both National and Labour are in good spirits, despite only the former taking an electorate seat.
