Tolaga Bay braces for more wild weather

From Morning Report, 8:15 am on 11 June 2018

Just a week after the region was hammered by bad weather Tolaga Bay is bracing itself for another deluge later today. Torrential rain last Tuesday saw flash flooding and around one million tonnes of logging debris strewn over properties, roads, in rivers and the Tolaga Bay harbour. Heavy rain is forecast for a twelve hour period starting this afternooon. About 120 to 200mm of rain is expected to fall. Louise Bennett is the civil defence emergency manager for the Gisborne District Council. She talks to Philippa Tolley.
