Torrential rain worries Gisborne region

Heavy rain is falling in the Gisborne area just one week after flash flooding ravaged Tolaga Bay. The Waipaoa River in Gisborne and The Hikuwai River in Tolaga Bay have reached alert levels and State Highway Two in the Te Karaka area is closed. Some families near the Hikuwai River have spent the night with friends but so far no one has been forced to evacuate.
