World Cup finally arrives for Russia

The biggest sporting event of the year, the Football World Cup kicks off in Russia in the early hours of Friday morning when Russia plays Saudi Arabia. Eight years ago Russia defeated a rival bid from England, as well as joint proposals from Belgium and Holland & Spain and Portugal to host the event. Sports Editor Stephen Hewson reports.
