Her solo music will get you sweaty on the dance floor - that's what she wants, she described making the album as "Re-awakening my club desire"

Charlotte Ryan spoke to her from her home in East London about her anxieties, the media and releasing music as a 57-year-old.

3.30 Music 101 LIVE:  THE VEILS

We are very lucky to have a special live recording of The Veils performing earlier this year on their “Out of the Void came Love’ tour.

It's been 7 years since the Veils had performed any new music - but to accompany the much anticipated new double album from The Veils: …And Out Of The Void Came Love The band headed out on tour. 

The last date of the tour was at the Powerstation in Mt Eden, Auckland, and RNZ was there to capture their sound.

Our guest picking their favourite songs and talking life is  writer, musician and taonga pūoro practitioner Ruby Solly.

Charlotte recorded this Mixtape with Ruby a couple of years ago now. But as you will hear, everything she speaks about feels timeless, and with the release of her new book THE ARTIST out this week through Te Herenga Waka University Press - we wanted to celebrate this amazing woman for NZ Music Month.
