09.10 Taking the confusion out of dementia support 

​Almost 70,000 New Zealanders are living with dementia but finding the right support and resources can be frustrating. After dealing with her own father's illness, Auckland woman Leslie Harris created Harris List - a unique website which provides a one-stop shop with everything you need to know about dementia. It comes as funding woes have forced Dementia Auckland to close its head office with staff working out of someone's basement.

09.25 Labour of love saves local art heritage

A huge mural by treasured potter, the late Barry Brickell, that was once destined for the wrecking ball, has been safely installed in a new home in the refurbished Taupō airport. Chris Johnston, who runs the local Replete Cafe, purchased the work to save it from demolition and secured funding so objects conservator Liz Yuda could restore the piece to its former glory. 

9.40 Cauliflower ice-cream anyone?

When a vegan and a food technologist met at an ideas competition two years ago a new vegan ice cream company was born. The sustainable food start up Kinda is planning to launch its cauliflower based vegan ice-cream onto the market this year. Milli Kumar joins Anna to tell her about the plans.

There's a lot to talk about with our sports correspondent Leonard Powell. Dave Rennie has been sacked as Wallabies coach and replaced by Eddie Jones, the NZ football ferns are about to go head-to-head with the star US women's team ahead of this year's Women's Football World Cup.

10.10 The power of the silver fern

The silver fern is recognised internationally as the symbol of New Zealand but what does it actually mean, what's its history and why is it so important that we protect it? More than 500 companies now use the symbol to promote the fact they are kiwi. David Downs, the head of New Zealand story joins Anna to talk about the power of the fern.

10.30 Summer food - Pasifika inspired donuts

Missing the cultural flavours of the Pacific and Aotearoa, two young kiwi women flatting in a dingy Bondi flat started making Cook Island donuts, sowing the first seed for what would become DOE Donuts .They launched the business back in Auckland and say the donuts stem from nostalgic Kiwiana and heartwarming Pasifika memories. Grace Tauber is one half of the partnership and joins Anna to talk about how it's going and share some of her favourite summer food.

10.45 Museum stop - Coaltown Museum Westport

Our museum stop today is in Buller in the heart of coal country. The Coaltown museum tracks the challenging history and development of coal mining and export on the coast. It includes the Q wagon ussed on the world famous Dennison Incline. It's run by Ralph Rataul who joins Anna to talk about the museum's history and its plans for the future.

11.08 On the road with Department of Conservation veteran Herb Christophers

We're in the car with Herb Christophers who has just retired from the Department of Conservation after a 30-year career. Herb is a walking encyclopaedia on everything you need to know about our native trees, plants, and birds - and there probably isn't a corner of the country he hasn't visited. He also has a very special family connection to Gallipoli. 

11.35 Auckland's Shakespeare production hit by thieves

Auckland's Pumphouse Theatre has been burgled just ahead of the start of its summer Shakespeare season. It begins this weekend with Antony and Cleopatra. But thieves have broken into the theatre and stolen technical equipment. James Bell, is one of the directors.
