Dairy prices fall for fourth consecutive time

Dairy prices have fallen to their lowest level in more than two months in the latest global auction overnight.

The average price was down 0.6 percent to $US3477 a tonne.

It was the fourth consecutive fall in prices.

The price of whole milk powder, a key factor in setting returns to local farmers, was up 1.6 percent at $US3278 a tonne.

The volumes sold were down more than 7 percent.
