More medals on the cards on the Gold Coast tonight

New Zealand should more than double its gold medal haul at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games tonight with six athletes strong gold medal contenders.

Weightlifter Laurel Hubbard is currently competing in the 90kg plus division at Carrara.

Para swimmer Sophie Pascoe is on course for her second gold of the Games setting a personal best in qualifying fastest for 100m breaststroke.

Para Javelin thrower Holly Robinson is also likely to go close.

On the squash court Joelle King and Paul Coll, the two highest ranked players from the Commonwealth contest their finals.

World champion shot putter Tom Walsh is odds on favourite to win gold after setting a Games record in qualifying.

His event is set to start after ten o'clock tonight.

The Silver Ferns play Scotland and the Tall Blacks play Canada.
