A 29-year-old man has been arrested after a spate of bank robberies in West Auckland.

Police arrested the man after an investigation into three robberies in the past month at KiwiBank in Glen Eden, ANZ in West City Mall and BNZ in Henderson.

In each incident, a lone offender allegedly walked into the bank, handed a note to the teller saying they had a weapon and demanded money before fleeing with cash, police said.

Detective Senior Sergeant Roger Small said the man will appear in the Waitakere District Court today on three aggravated robbery charges.
