The police are looking for witnesses after a woman was assaulted in Hamilton early yesterday morning.
The woman was walking in Frankton when a man approached her from behind just before 5am on Higgins Road near Ramsay Street.
The police said she was forced to the ground by the man before fighting him off and hitting him on the head. The man then fled.
The man is described as medium build and height, dressed in black and may have cuts on his head.
