Labour leader Chris Hipkins has hit out again at National's tax plan while out on the campaign trail today, repeating earlier comments that "these numbers don't stack up".

Hipkins has spoken to media at Porirua Women and Family Centre, which houses Whare Manaaki, WINZ, Women's Refuge and Living Without Violence.

Watch it here:

Hipkins said public services cuts would be inevitable if National's tax plans go ahead.

"This is a major credibility problem for the National Party," he said.

He said while National had released a policy focused on new immigration visas for its tech policy, "they are proposing to make redundant a whole lot of people at MBIE who process visas".

Hipkins has spent most of the day in Lower Hutt and Porirua as election campaigning continues.
