The New Zealand mixed martial arts fighter Israel Adesanya remains undefeated as a professional after his second victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Nigerian-born 28-year-old Adesanya, who moved to New Zealand when he was 11, has beaten Italian fighter Marvin Vettori by split decision for the 13th win of his professional career at the UFC Fight Night in Arizona on Sunday.
The Kiwi middleweight won 29-28 on two judges scorecards and lost by the same score on the other.
Auckland-based Adesanya, who is touted by many as one of the most exciting prospects in the UFC, largely dominated the stand-up exchanges with his highly rated kickboxing skills.
Vettori, though, did continue to gamely come forward and managed to take Adesanya down and gain control for a significant part of the third and final round.
