Krishna claims top prize at Phoenix awards night

Wellington Phoenix striker Roy Krishna has won Player of the Year at the annual awards ceremony.

Krishna's goal in round four against the Brisbane Roar was also rewarded with the Goal of the Season award on Tuesday night.

He was unable to defend his 2017 Golden Boot award with leading goal scorer Andrija Kaludjerovic's nine goals claiming this year's honour.

Kaludjerovic finished the A League season in top eight goal scoring ranks.

Defender Dylan Fox was voted the Player's Player of the Year by the side contributing 36 intercepts and 19 blocks.

Matthew Ridenton picked up the Under 23 Player of the Year award, Helen Mallon won Volunteer of the Year and Matt Weldon-Smith's team support earned him Fan of the Year.

The night was closed with coach Chris Greenacre honoured with the Lloyd Morrison Spirit of the Wellington Phoenix award.
