The pair are battling for the single seat at the World Championships later this year.

Manson won his semi-final, but was slightly slower than Drysdale, who was second in his semi-final.

Manson won the second semifinal in six minutes 44.97 seconds and Drysdale was second in the first semi in 6:43.49.

While New Zealand can race multiple boats in a class at the World Cup events, the team can only select one boat per class for world champs and Olympic regattas.

New Zealand has 10 crews in finals.
