The New Zealand driver Scott Dixon has won the latest round of the Indycar Series in Toronto and has re-established himself as the driver to beat in the championship.

The four-time series champion led 49 of 85 laps around the streets of Toronto, including the final 27 laps, to secure his third win of the season and extend his championship lead to 62 points unofficially after 12 of 17 races.
Dixon finished five seconds ahead of Simon Pagenaud.
"That was definitely a physical race, with those stop-goes it was easy to pick up lots of debris on the tyres and that obviously affected Josef (Newgarden)," Dixon said.
"The car was superb, we just needed some clear air and we were able to checkout."
It gave Dixon the 44th victory of his Indy car career, ranking him third all time and eight behind Mario Andretti for second place.
Canadian team-mates Robert Wickens and James Hinchcliffe finished third and fourth, respectively.
Pole sitter Josef Newgarden led 25 laps but brushed the wall on a restart and lost valuable time in the pits, finishing ninth.
