Ferns trounce Thailand in friendly

The Football Ferns have hammered Thailand 4-0 in an international friendly at Albany. Katie Kitching netted a double for the Ferns while Hannah Wilkinson and Jacqui Hand also got on the scoresheet. The second match is in Christchurch on Tuesday.

Blues women finish top

The Blues Women have finished their Super Rugby Aupiki regular season with a 41-29 win over Hurricanes Poua in Levin this afternoon to finish top of the table. Katelyn Vaha'akolo bagged a double for the Blues who lead 24-15 at halftime. They will now host next weekend's final against Chiefs Manawa who went down 22-20 to Matatū in Christchurch. A late Liv McGoverne try sealed the win for the Southerners.

On track for back-to-back

Both the Black Ferns and All Blacks Sevens sides are through to tonight's quarterfinals in Hong Kong. The Ferns beat Brazil 33-7 and Great Britain 24-5 on the opening day, before going down to France 26-21. Meanwhile, the men edged USA 12-7 this afternoon following wins over Great Britain and Argentina on day one. Both sides won gold at the 2023 Hong Kong Sevens.
