During his 50 years in the business, Miller boosted the careers of people including Alan Jones, Deborah Hutton, Maggie Tabberer and Marcia Hines.

He also worked with Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton, Gai Waterhouse and Thredbo landslide survivor Stuart Diver.

Miller was born in New Zealand on 6 January, 1934. He was raised in Grey Lynn, Auckland, but relocated to Australia in 1963.

Some of his biggest achievements include bringing The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Beach Boys and Louis Armstrong to New Zealand.

Miller had been battling dementia since 2011.

In a statement, his family said he "died peacefully" yesterday in Sydney.

His family called him "a visionary agent and theatrical producer".

"By his side were his long-term partner Simmone Logue, daughters Justine, Brook and Lauren, and their mother Wendy," they said.

Miller's family has asked people to make donations to Dementia Australia and the Salvation Army in lieu of flowers.
