BBC Proms 2018 - Week Seven

From Music Alive, 6:00 am on 17 September 2018

This week the BBC Proms continues to mark 100 years since the birth of Leonard Bernstein.

Marin Alsop conducts the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra with pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet in Bernstein’s Symphony No 2, The Age of Anxiety.

The inspiration for this work came from WH Auden’s poem of the same name, which Bernstein regarded as “one of the most shattering examples of pure virtuosity in the history of English poetry."
