Synopsis of Rigoletto

Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901)

'Rigoletto' is an opera in three acts, based on the play 'Le roi s'amuse' by Victor Hugo.

This production of 'Rigoletto' is set in Las Vegas, 1960.

The unhappy plights of the melancholy hunchback Rigoletto, the ill-fated Gilda and the debonair but ruthless Duke of Mantua unfold in Verdi’s glorious melodies.

The Siberian baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky died in 2017.
