Fusion that pleases on Pick and Mix

From Pick and Mix

CMNZ touring pianist Francesco Turrisi is a true musical alchemist. His latest album There Is No Other made with partner Rhiannon Giddens explores the connections between the rhythms of Africa and the Arabic world with the folk music of Europe and America.

Fado Queen Mariza sings with the joyful emotion that has made her Portugal’s most successful export on her Songlines award winning album Mariza.

Joy is the appropriate name of the debt album from new fusion group AKA Trio. The Trio is made up of artists from three continents: guitarist Antonio Forcione from Italy, kora master Seckou Keita from Senegal and from Brazil the percussionist Adriano Adewale.

Gunter Herbig’s new album Ex Oriente uses electric guitar on the quasi-religious music of the early 20th century mystic George lvanovich Gurdjieff.
