Starting this month, RNZ Concert's early morning presenter Cynthia Morahan will tap into the vast amount of literature about music in the Daybreak Book Corner (It may actually just be an excuse to read more).

We'll feature a book, and give a copy away, during Daybreak with Cynthia Morahan, on RNZ Concert.

For the month of August, Daybreak Book Corner features a memoir of a life in music by former NZSO violist Peter van Drimmelen.

Driving for Music by Peter van Drimmelen

In Driving for Music Peter describes how music has been his constant companion - even with the odd diversion into bus driving (he wanted something to fall back on!). Complete with plenty of self-deprecating viola jokes and musical anecdotes, ‘Driving for Music’ is essentially a love story to music.

To win your copy of Driving for Music by Peter van Drimmelen, answer this question:

"If you were to write a memoir, what would it be called?"

Email your answer, your name and address to daybreak@radionz.co.nz

Keep an eye out on our RNZ Concert Facebook page and listen out to the radio between 6-9am weekday mornings on RNZ Concert for Daybreak Book Corner updates. Cynthia will announce the winner on air and online at the end of August.

Our thanks to Anna Hunt at Marsden Books whose voracious reading appetite has unearthed a few titles we hadn’t heard of before - stay tuned for more of these in the coming months.
