Multi-genre Latin music group Latinaotearoa have just finished a raucous tour of Australia and New Zealand in the wake of their recently released third album - Influencis et Collabis. As the title suggests; the tour and album featured significant contributions from acts like producer and jazz multi-instrumentalist Nathan Haines as well as Laughton Kora and hip-hop acts Team Dynamite and Melodownz.

The 'Influencis' are Latinaotearoa’s takes on a selection of mostly South American songs – sometimes through covers, other times through a complete remix or building a core record sample up into a new song.

Shaun D Wilson caught up with DJ and producer Bobby Brazuka (half of Latinaotearoa along with Venezuelan singer Jennifer Zea) who took him through the album’s creation, Japanese painter Tokio Aoyama’s beautiful, colourful album art and Latinaoteaora’s history.
