New Zealand Symphony Orchestra Music Director Edo de Waart and Grammy Award winner Augustin Hadelich are mid tour this week presenting de Waart’s third Masterworks concert for 2018.  After working with Hadelich previously, de Waart describes him as a beautiful player and one of the few violin virtuosi who can do justice to Beethoven’s Violin Concerto.  Thirty-four year old Hadelich has, says the NZSO now entered the upper echelon of the violin world and is regarded as a ‘must-see’.

Augustin has had a busy year thus far. He debuted with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, performed the Bernstein Serenade at the Kennedy Center with the Fort Worth Symphony and Miguel Harth-Bedoya, Britten's violin concerto with the Detroit Symphony and the St. Louis Symphony on a tour in California, and the Ligeti concerto with the Seattle, Milwaukee and Boston Symphony orchestras. In January he released an album of Paganini.

Here's Augustin with the Detroit Symphony in March this year playing the Britten concerto. For other performances see his youtube channel.
