Midday

We mark one of the defining moments of our time: September 11, 2001 when the World Trade Center in New York was attacked, resulting in the loss of 2996 lives. We feature a composition by NY based composer Eric Ewazen titled “A hymn for the lost and the living”. It tells his story of that day.

1pm BBC Proms

We continue our series of BBC Proms. Today the Geneva based Orchestre de la Suisse Romande celebrates its 100th anniversary with its Proms debut. Renaud Capuçon is the soloist for Ravel’s Second Violin Sonata. Stravinsky’s colourful ballet Petrushka and Debussy’s Jeux complete this colourful programme.
