Reports from New Caledonia say several people have been questioned as police try to find the gunman who shot at one of their vehicles.

The Nouvelles Caledonionnes said the incident happened near Canala almost two weeks ago, but has only been disclosed now.
The report said police tried to intercept the stolen car while one driver fled, but the vehicle was found abandoned.
It said reinforcements who arrived to tow the stolen car were shot at by a gunman using a large calibre rifle.
The report said the bullet pierced the police vehicle and was lodged in the front seat, narrowly missing an officer.
