The Post Courier reported that Justin Tkatchenko told parliament hosting more than 15,000 delegates and business people is a huge challenge which PNG is working to overcome.
He said PNG is 'APEC ready' but there is one issue that still needs to be addressed.
Mr Tkatchkeno said Port Moresby's Jackon's International Airport will not be able to park all visiting aircraft.
He said the challenge has been faced by previous APEC hosts and that Papua New Guinea was negotiating options for aircraft to fly-on and park in Indonesia, Australia or other PNG airports.
