Fiji's opposition National Federation Party says the incompetence of Fiji Sugar Corporation executives has become intolerable.

The NFP leader Biman Prasad said as a result cane growers, cane cutters and lorry operators were suffering.

He said it was deceitful of the FSC to announce that the Lautoka mill was on a scheduled stop when the reality was that it had broken down.

Mr Prasad also said there was a misleading campaign on the effectiveness of the sugar mills.

He said the problem with the industry was that it was now totally controlled by government with growers having no say whatsoever.
