The SODELPA leader has been accused by Fiji's Independent Commission against Corruption of making the omission while making his declaration to the Supervisor of Elections.

FBC news reports that the Commission's counsel Rashmi Aslam made the statement during an appeal hearing this morning at the Suva High court.

The Commission appealed a court ruling which acquitted Mr Rabuka two weeks ago.

Mr Aslam said Mr Rabuka cleared his tax liability with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service and then made a declaration with the Supervisor of Elections which allegedly omitted information.

The lawyer said the act is discriminatory by complying with one law but allegedly failing to comply with another.

Mr Aslam claims the amount omitted by Mr Rabuka is significant.

The defense is currently giving their submissions.

A decision on the case is due on Monday, two days before Fiji's general election.
