Dengue cases in Cook Islands reach 30

The number of confirmed cases of dengue fever in the Cook Islands has risen to 18.

The Cook Islands News reported the Ministry for Health haf also identified 12 more cases rated as probable.

This brings to 30 the number of cases in the latest dengue outbreak declared in early March.

The Community Health Services director Tereapii Uka said there had been a steady increase in the number of cases.

Many people had responded to calls to clean up areas where mosquitoes could breed, Dr Uka said.
