Samoa peackeepers deploy to South Sudan

The latest deployment of Samoan peace keepers has left for South Sudan.

The seven person team of United Nations peacekeepers was farewelled on Thursday.

Acting commissioner Papalii Monalisa Tiai-Keti reminded them they are ambassadors of Samoa to adhere to Samoan police values and its code of conduct.

The tour of duty is for one year.

Samoa has been sending UN peacekeepers for 19 years.
