Illegal PNG logging puts Chinese businesses at risk

From , 3:04 pm on 30 July 2018

A new report says that illegal logging in Papua New Guinea could be risky to its main trading partner; China.

Environmental NGO Global Witness released the report, that is based on observations of eight of the largest logging operations in PNG, today (Monday).

Global Witness policy advisor Lela Stanley told Tim Glasgow  that all of the operations they observed were breaking forestry laws, and this poses risks to Chinese businesses that receive the wood.
