Hawaii's volcano village wants its visitors back

It's now three months since the Kilauea volcano on Hawaii's Big Island began erupting.

It's had diverse impacts, not only the rivers of lava flowing to the coast but the loss of visitors to the volcano's caldera, - which had been the single biggest tourist attraction in Hawaii.

The village of Volcano is just a stone's throw from the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park which encompasses the caldera.

For many years Volcano thrived on the vast numbers of visitors, about two million annually, coming to the park and passing through the village.

But with the Park closed since soon after the first eruption in early May, Volcano has been struggling.

A new website Experience Volcano Hawaii aims to change that.

Spokesperson Jesse Tunison spoke with Don Wiseman who began by asking about the village of Volcano.
