New graduates with an Australian community care qualification offered by the Bradford Institute of Advanced Education in Samoa are now looking to work in Australia.

The training gives skills in caring for the aged, persons with special needs, youths and domestic violence victims.

Nineteen of the graduates are now actively seeking jobs to care for the elderly in Brisbane.

The Samoa director of the Institute, Va'a Alofipo, says Australia has a high demand for caregivers and Samoans have a natural affinity for the work.

He he told Sara Vuitalitu the work could lead to permanent residency.
