The discussion of waste has recently turned to fashion. The industry is one of the biggest contributors to world pollution, but some are trying to make it more ethical and sustainable.

In New Zealand, more than 100 million kilos of textile waste is chucked into our rubbish dumps each year. 

To combat this, is the country's only upcycled fashion awards show. It's been running for six years now and will be held in Carterton this weekend. 

The Oversew Fashion Awards creative director, Kate Williams, tells us about the event and the movement.

New Zealand exporters are scrambling to reach new trade agreements with both Britain and the European Union as Brexit looms on the horizon.  Britain once bought all the butter, cheese and meat we could produce but when the closer ties with Europe were developed in the 1960s, we had to fight for access to those markets. 

In today's visit to the sound archives of Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision we are going to hear about cheese and butter exports.

While his alter ego on Twitter, Jonny Sun, piles on the followers, he is studying how social media stars influence culture.
