1:15 Brown marmorated stink bug discovered in Oamaru

Up to 26 brown marmorated stink bugs have been discovered in a box of imported shoes in Oamaru.

It's a serious biosecurity breach, as the bugs are known to feed on important and valuable crops such as apples, grapes and kiwifruit.

Travis Glare from the bio-security research centre joins us with more.

3:20 Talk the Walk: The Watercare Coastal Walkway

The Watercare Coastal Walkway was opened in the 2005 when old oxidation ponds were removed and a $450 million transformation of the Manukau Harbour began. Community groups, members of Makarau Marae and Watercare staff helped transform the foreshore, building the tracks, planting more than 270,00 native plants and trees.  

The 7km track stretches from Ambury park to Ōtuataua Stonefields.
