Dementia patients and the risk of Predatory marriage

From Afternoons, 1:24 pm on 17 August 2018

Daphne Franks of Leeds has spent the past two years trying to raise awareness about predatory marriage after discovering that her elderly mother, who had dementia, had been forced into a marriage with a man, who then inherited her home and assets when she died a short time later.

Attempts to have him prosecuted failed and so she is now trying to get British laws changed. She has a website called Justice for Joan and also a facebook page about predatory marriage

Daphe Franks says with the rise in dementia cases this is something that could happen to anyone, and the laws are very similar in New Zealand.
