Te Papa influencing Australian museums

From Afternoons, 1:19 pm on 6 November 2018

South Australia is taking cues from Te Papa, using its bicultural model as a guide in turning the region's museum into a national Aboriginal art gallery.

$60 million in funding has been granted for the project to showcase the Aboriginal collections.

John Carty, Head of Humanities at the South Australian Museum, says Te Papa is shaping the way forward for museums and galleries across the ditch.

He'll be at Te Papa later this week and joins us to explain this venture.
